If the owner of a website decides to send out emails to thousands of people promoting a new product, the website may be added to a blacklist. If one or more of the recipients marks the email as spam, the email service provider may place the website on a blacklist. In another scenario, if you notice that your regular site visitors have decreased and traffic to your site has ceased, one of the reasons could be that your website has been blacklisted. Also, if someone offers to sell you a domain, you should check to see if it is blacklisted.
